So in top of the issues in my opening post where I couldn’t get the transmitter box recognised in the SteelSeries Engine 3 software plus the USB error message every time I plugged the box into my laptop I now had no mic on PS4 either. Yet sound was still coming into the headset from the PS4. If I disconnected the USB cable from Transmitter and plugged it back in again it would say Headset Connected briefly, followed by Headset disconnected, and finally No mic attached. I made no progress at all.Īfter trying the headset on PS4 last night to test chat I realised the mic wasn’t working, in fact I had no options for Arctis at all under Devices->Audio Devices on PS4. After spending hours reading forums, trying to find an answer that doesn’t exist. So far I've seen a few similar issues here on Reddit, but with no definitive answer - so I'm now wondering if I have a faulty headset and or transmitter? Oddly enough, if I go to Device Manager I can see that there are three a mentions of the Arctis Pro Wireless under 'Audio inputs and outputs' with another mention of it under USB controllers with an exclamation mark through it listed as 'Unknown USB device (Set Address Failed). I was trying to upload an image of it here but for some reason I can't. I've also tried plugging in the transmitter box - and I just get an error message on windows saying USB device not recognised, and nothing again showing up in the SteelSeries Engine 3 software. I've also tried it on my Macbook Pro but I don't get anything showing as connected in there either. The fact of the matter is no matter which USB port I plug the headset in to on my laptop it's not recognised, and I have 4 USB ports. I just received my Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless today from eBay, I thought I'd see if there was a firmware update for the headset - now the instructions don't really say much about firmware apart from the right earcup picture where you can plug in the Micro-USB cable.
